Configuring SolarAPP+ for Your Jurisdiction
SolarAPP+ is designed to be flexible and adaptable to meet the unique needs of jurisdictions across the country. Whether you're in the process of onboarding or already using the platform, there are a range of customizable options available to help align SolarAPP+ with your local requirements.
How Customization Works
Jurisdictions can choose to activate any of the following features during onboarding or at any point afterward. If your jurisdiction has a need that is not listed below, our team is happy to discuss potential new feature development.
To request a change or inquire about additional features, please contact the SolarAPP+ team directly.
Available Configuration Options

- Electrical Codes: National Electrical Code (NEC) 2017, 2020, 2023, etc.
If a newer edition or custom amendment is needed, the SolarAPP+ team can work with you to determine feasibility and implementation.
Fire Bulletin Appendix (Local Code Clarifications)
- Include a Fire Bulletin Appendix as a reference for plan review
Jurisdictions may include a Fire Bulletin Appendix—a customizable PDF used to clarify local fire or building code requirements that go beyond baseline state codes. This document can specify:
- Roof access pathways or fire service clearances
- Local material or installation standards
- Additional labeling or construction rules
This appendix is referenced during the automated review process and provides clear guidance to contractors on any unique local requirements.

- Require prescriptive structural checks (e.g., rafter span verification)
- Allow or restrict main panel upgrades
- Allow or restrict main breaker derating
- Use project valuation to calculate permit fees
Environmental and Local Conditions
